Oli

Meet one of the new floofs to come under the care of Pretty Paws Bali - Oli! This adorable fella is FULL of energy, and easily one of the liveliest snouts in our house. Lovable, sociable and a very handsome charming boy indeed! He wasn’t always wearing this cheeky smile you you see here, though. In the words of his rescuer, Marriane S, this was how Oli was found:

“On the night of 6th August 2023, a friend Jenny, alerted me to the fact that a dog was dumped, lying motionless, but breathing, on the rocks at the beach, at the back of the promenade, near Discovery Mall Shopping Centre.

I went to the area & found Oli had moved & was lying in the gutter area at the side of the Boardwalk.

I fed & watered him & knew he had an issue with his eyes. He also wouldn’t let me move him, as he snapped at me, so I thought he was either, injured or in pain & scared.

I couldn’t take him with me, so the other lady & I went to reception at the hotel & rang the vets. They wouldn’t help. I contacted numerous rescues & they couldn’t help.

We decided to leave him for the night & return in the morning. My friend returned to the boardwalk before me & she and another Aussie with dogs - who lives in Bali - got him to follow them further down the boardwalk to a grassy area opposite the beach.

Another friend, Kris R, had made contact with me by that morning & she asked me for the specific location of Oli, as she was sending Dayu, her assistant, to have a look for him.

Dayu went there & found him & he eventually got on her bike & she took him to the vets.

I’ve been staying connected to Kris ever since & supporting him as much as possible.“

Needless to say, we’re all very relieved Marianne, Kris and Dayu found and saved little Oli. He’s doing well now, and even his eyesight seems to be improving. And as you’ll see in the video below, he’s a welcoming, cheerful bundle of fur!
